Quality and Patient Safety

The Hospital Association of San Diego & Imperial Counties (HASD&IC), along with CHA and the other regional associations, is committed to helping hospitals improve quality, reduce medical errors and adverse events, and maximize patient safety.

Frequent studies in recent years have argued that health care errors are a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in the United States. A number of organizations, such as the Institute of Medicine (IOM), recommend that health care errors and adverse events be reported in a systemic manner.

This increasing attention on the quality of patient care in hospitals has renewed HASD&IC’s commitment, along with CHA and the other regional associations, to assist with improving the quality of patient care in every California hospital.
