With the first SynDaver Synthetic Cadaver Lab and the first zSpace immersive Virtual Reality Labs for higher education on the West Coast, the university has maintained a tradition of innovation in educational technology. Its recently expanded Robotics and Intelligent Sciences Lab includes pioneering social-robotics platforms, advanced rehabilitation robotics, and motion-guided therapy systems. The lab features social and rehabilitation robotics such as the LuxAI QTrobot and RoboKind Milo, which support research in social-emotional learning and occupational therapy for individuals on the autism spectrum. Students also engage with the Gloreha Sinfonia robotic glove and MediTouch ArmTutor system, both designed to enhance motor recovery and rehabilitation training through interactive, motion-guided therapy. Together, these technologies advance experiential learning and prepare students to lead in the evolving fields of human–robot collaboration and rehabilitative science.
