Biweekly Briefing Articles

Best Wishes to Sara Steinhoffer of Sharp HealthCare

While the Biweekly Briefing was not originally scheduled to publish this week, I would be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge Sara Steinhoffer, who is retiring on July 2 after 12 years as vice president of government relations at Sharp HealthCare.

Sara joined Sharp HealthCare in 2009 as an experienced government relations professional and has worked tirelessly with senior management, medical groups, Sharp Health Plan, system clinical leadership, and the Sharp HealthCare Board of Directors Advocacy Committee to advocate at local, state, and national levels of government. Prior to coming to Sharp HealthCare, she was the governmental and community liaison for UC San Diego’s main campus, medical center, and school of medicine.

Sara has been an active member of the HASD&IC Government Affairs Workgroup, the Community Health Needs Assessment Committee, the political action committee of California Hospital Association, and the Government Relations Officers Network of the American Hospital Association. She has been a constant and consistent voice for hospitals and patients in her advocacy and a supportive community partner in efforts to address the needs of our region’s most vulnerable.

In celebration of her good works, Sara received a Guardian Angel recognition through a generous gift to Sharp HealthCare from Jim and Grace Smith, and the City of San Diego has proclaimed July 2, 2021, to be Sara Steinhoffer Day.

We are grateful to Sara for her long-standing commitment to hospitals and work in our community. Join us in gratitude, congratulations, and best wishes to Sara!
