5 Things To Know: CHCF Invites Organizations to Apply for Workforce Initiative
The California Health Care Foundation (CHCF) is inviting organizations to submit a letter of interest for its new Community Health Worker, Promotor, and Community Health Representative Workforce: Community of Practice initiative by Aug. 23. This initiative builds on CHCF’s ongoing efforts to advance these professions in California, reduce health disparities, and increase access to culturally responsive care.
5 Things To Know: Bridge Housing Funds Will Establish Recuperative Care Beds
San Diego County Behavioral Health Services has been awarded $12.4 million in state funding for bridge housing services. The funds will be used to create 49 new recuperative care beds for people who are experiencing homelessness and have a behavioral health condition. The award was part of a series of competitive grants issued by the Department of Health Care Services as part of its Behavioral Health Bridge Housing funding. The new beds will be located in a county-owned facility and at community-based providers that contract with the county.

The law requires hospitals to include mechanisms in the protocol that will improve hospital operations and reduce APOT.

A major deadline looms for hospitals and our partners. On Sept. 1, hospitals are required to submit their Ambulance Patient Offload Time (APOT) reduction protocol under Assembly Bill (AB) 40. The standard is 30 minutes, 90% of the time for general, acute care hospitals with emergency departments (EDs).
