The HASD&IC Board of Directors convened on March 19. Board Chair and Palomar Health CEO Diane Hansen, CPA, officiated.
Board members welcomed Family Health Centers of San Diego CEO Fran Butler-Cohen, who will be attending meetings as a guest community clinic representative.
The agenda included updates and discussion on regional priorities; review of the 2025 Point-in-Time Count of people experiencing homelessness; an update on the process, focus, and timeline of a behavioral health environmental scan across our region; and a preliminary summary and review of the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) primary finding. Gratitude was expressed to all the members, staff, and community partners who participated in the CHNA collective effort.
Federal and state priority issues included a review and update on federal spending cuts, Medicaid, Proposition 35, the managed care organization tax, the Office of Health Care Affordability, and the Hospital Quality Assurance Fee Program. Additionally, Hospital Quality Institute President Robert Imhoff provided an overview of Assembly Bill 1204 (2021), hospital equity reporting requirements, and the Hospital Quality Improvement Platform.
