The County Medical Services Program Governing Board seeks to address the chronic health care provider shortage in its counties — including Imperial County — which it hopes to do via the Building the Healthcare Workforce (BHW) grant program. The board has released a request for proposals for the BHW program, which would support and expand such health care workforce groups as primary care, nursing, behavioral health, dental, allied health, public health, and more. Two informational webinars on the program are taking place Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. (PT) and March 12 at 1 p.m. (PT) (the password for both is “BHW”).
