Tim Smith, who has served admirably as senior vice president and chief executive officer of Sharp Memorial Hospital since 2007, will be retiring from his 40-year career in health care on Jan. 20. During his tenure at Sharp Memorial, Tim played a critical role in the hospital’s day-to-day operations, ensuring patients received the best care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings while managing and planning for the continued growth of the facility.
Prior to joining Sharp, Tim served as interim chief operating officer at the University of California Irvine Medical Center for two years and was CEO of Fountain Valley Regional Hospital for nine years. Tim also had executive roles at Garden Grove Hospital, St. Bernardine Medical Center, and Hoag Hospital. His many other leadership roles in the health care industry included board chairman of the Hospital Association of Southern California and board member of the California Hospital Association.

Trisha Khaleghi, MSN, RN, will assume leadership at Sharp Memorial Hospital as the senior vice president and market chief executive officer for Sharp HealthCare Metropolitan Hospitals (Sharp Memorial Hospital, Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns, Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital, and Sharp McDonald Center).
