The Office of Health Care Affordability (OHCA) is racing to establish exorbitant penalties for hospitals by the end of summer — and the California Hospital Association (CHA) needs hospitals’ help pushing back. A CHA alert is asking hospital leaders to comment at the June 24 OHCA board meeting and at OHCA’s hospital-only Progressive Enforcement Workshop (download and save calendar item) on July 7. The alert contains talking points and materials to assist in hospitals’ advocacy.
5 Things To Know: County of San Diego Releases Revised Budget
On June 12, the County of San Diego released a $9.16 billion revised recommended 2026-27 budget that reflects public feedback. The revised budget is $3.8 million larger than the recommended budget released on May 18 and $522 million larger than the 2025-26 budget. It is scheduled for consideration and possible adoption by the Board of Supervisors on June 25.
