Hear About Issues of Importance to Hospitals at Annual HASD&IC Meeting

This post has been archived and contains information that may be out of date.

HASD&IC’s Annual Meeting, which will be held virtually Nov. 15-18, is fast approaching. If you haven’t done so already, I encourage you to register now.

The four-day series of webinars will include several issues of importance to your hospitals. You’ll have the opportunity to hear from me and CHA President & CEO Carmela Coyle about the advocacy agenda for 2022, along with a CEO Roundtable that will feature hospital leaders from San Diego and Imperial counties. They’ll share lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic, and how those learnings will impact care delivery for years to come.

As ransomware attacks and other cybersecurity threats have become a great concern for public health organizations and health care facilities nationwide, you won’t want to miss the panel on cybersecurity — a topic that is certainly top of mind for many of your hospitals these days.

In addition, with workforce and staffing issues continuing to challenge your hospitals, Merritt Hawkins will present a webinar titled Will There Be a Doctor in the House? Physician Supply, Demand, and Staffing in the Era of COVID-19.

To address the coming changes to Medi-Cal, we’re excited to feature a webinar called Medi-Cal – A Look to the Future. It will be moderated by Kristen Cerf, president & CEO, Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan and panelists include:

  • Dr. Adolphe Edward, CEO, El Centro Regional Medical Center
  • Dr. Eric McDonald, chief medical officer, County of San Diego
  • Richard Wanne, director of eligibility operations, County of San Diego
  • Ryan Witz, group vice president, policy, California Hospital Association

The meeting is complimentary, but $50 donations are encouraged, and all funds raised will go to support local nonprofit organizations.
