As we prepare to celebrate the Fourth of July, we are reminded that this holiday represents more than parades, barbecues, and fireworks. At its core, the Fourth of July reflects our nation’s enduring commitment to service, shared responsibility, and strengthening the communities we call home.
Those values are on full display in hospitals across San Diego and Imperial counties, where health care workers serve their communities by caring for all who need it — upholding dignity, compassion, and equity, and ensuring that critical services are always available.
While many of you will spend the holiday with family and friends, thousands of doctors, nurses, support staff, and others will be caring for patients, responding to emergencies, and helping families navigate some of their most difficult moments. Your dedication reflects the true spirit of service and commitment that this holiday honors.
