The upcoming Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) Spirit of the Barrio event, taking place on Oct. 25 at FHCSD’s Logan Heights location, will include discussions on critical legislative topics, a celebration of culinary heritage, and an opportunity for community building. The panel discussion, which includes HASD&IC President & CEO Dimitrios Alexiou, will explore Proposition (Prop) 35 and why California’s health care system is in crisis. If passed, Prop 35 would increase funding for health care services without increasing taxes — and help health care providers like FHCSD increase access to patient care by creating additional service sites and offering more comprehensive services.
