CALAIM PROVIDER FORUM MEETINGS TO BE HOSTED IN MAY: California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) provider forums are designed to give current and prospective providers of enhanced care management and community support services the opportunity to share experiences, ask questions, and learn from one another. Upcoming forums will be hosted for Imperial County on May 2 at 1 p.m. (PT) and San Diego County on May 9 at 11 a.m. (PT).
CHA Bill to Provide Seismic Relief Moves Forward
The California Hospital Association’s (CHA) bill to provide relief from the 2030 seismic construction mandate passed the Senate Health Committee last week on an 11-0 vote. It now heads to the Senate Appropriations Committee where a hearing is set for May 6.

Hospitals are facing extraordinary challenges, so being thoughtful about how we tackle the big issues is more important than ever. The pace of what is coming at us every day is relentless. It’s not easy to have meaningful conversations with the right stakeholders at the right time. To truly take on the big issues we need to slow down and create space for deeper insights. That’s a key takeaway for me after attending the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Congress late last month in Chicago, where I joined 5,000 health care professionals from around the country to discuss the leadership that’s needed for the challenges ahead.
