Thanks, and Gratitude for All You Do

Next week, many of us will gather with our families and friends and pause to reflect on all that we are thankful for. For some it might be the food and drink, for some it might be a new member of the family, and for still others it might just be the simple act of getting together — something that wasn’t advised last year.

After 2020 — a year like no other — 2021 brought its own set of new challenges. But hospital employees have continued to show up, day in and day out, and worked to meet the demands to ensure that patients received the care they need. No matter where you work, whether it’s in direct patient care or in a support role, your job is vital and meaningful to all those you serve in San Diego and Imperial counties.

As we head into the holiday season — and flu season — it’s not lost on anyone that we are not out of the woods just yet. With millions expected to gather for the holidays and hospitalizations already rising in some parts of the state, the next few weeks will be crucial for hospitals, and the lifesaving work you provide will be more vital than ever.

The Thanksgiving holiday offers a unique opportunity to pause and reflect. It’s times like these — those of great change and adversity — when we discover what we are capable of accomplishing. Thank you to all hospital employees for all that you have done this past year, and for all that you will continue to do to improve lives in the communities you serve.
