About 2030 Seismic Requirements
By the end of 2020, all hospitals in California will have met the state’s 2020 seismic safety standards. Hospitals will stand after an earthquake, people will be safe, and hospitals stand with their communities to protect patients’ access to health care.
In this time of financial instability for hospitals, we must prioritize access to health care for all Californians. We cannot afford to waste limited health care resources on unrealistic and excessive seismic requirements that place a higher value on infrastructure and utilities than on providing access to patient care now and in the future.
CHA has developed a toolkit to assist members in sharing their stories about the impact of the 2030 seismic requirements.
